Studio Notes - February 8th 2019

This is the first of a weekly video series. Each week, I'll share what's up with my work and share my thoughts about my art practice.Last week, almost everything I touched got worse. I recognize that as a sign that my creative well has run dry, so this week I'm taking a break from painting. I've had a tidy-up, I've done some sketchbook work, and I've begun to plan compositions using Procreate on my iPad.I'm not worried about these blips in my painting - I think they happen when something new is trying to come through - but I do want to make sure that I recognize my needs and give myself time to re-charge.Does this sound familiar to those of you who are also artists? If so, what are your tricks for getting back in the zone?
